After a very, very slow start to the year, things are finally moving and Nook can be seen at the Brooklyn Flea on Saturday, August 14th. Nook will be a guest seller at the Make,do booth. Nook will also be participating at the Make,do after party + sale at Rumors studio.

Fall is in the air

Hello! I'm getting really behind designing my new products for Fall/Winter. It's time to get serious! I started by lowering the prices on the pillows that are posted on Etsy (some have already sold!) Enjoy and grab them while they last!

Aside from the product and pillow world, I'm currently working on my first bathroom project. It's not a gut renovation—more of a re-design—but exciting none the less.

Stay tuned for more on that project and for new pillow designs in the (hopefully) near future!

Hudson Inspiration

Last week, I finally went to check out the High Line. It was awesome! Talk about good design. As I looked out onto the Hudson, I saw the remnants of an old pier. It was beautiful and I was inspired to start thinking about designs for the fall.

The Wassaic Project

Nook was recently invited to participate in The Wassaic Project, a weekend-long multi-disciplinary arts festival in Wassaic, NY—about 2-hours north of the city. At the festival, there will be a curated store featuring the work of selected artisans and designers from the New York area. Unfortunately, due to several factors including having just launched and not having enough time to get ready (the festival is next weekend), I had to turn down the offer. It sounds like a great opportunity to get Nook's name out there, as well as a chance to meet other artists and designers from the area. I definitely want to be a part of this—as well as other arts and crafts festivals—hopefully by next year.

Hello! Welcome to Nook Notes, the official blog of Nook. Here you will find photos, Nook project updates and other interesting things that inspire me and deserve to be shared.

It's been a slow process but we're nearing the official launch of Nook! There's been so much to take care of over the past few months. Aside from working 9-to-5 at an interior design firm, I've been spending my time taking classes at Make Workshop, learning to screen print, researching materials, and designing my website. Whew! The site is almost completed and I'm hoping to launch before August. Stay tuned and check back soon!
